In the life of a macho man, there have to be priorities – the tavern must never suffer because of the family. A macho man is a “womanizer,” enjoys a drink and good food, and loves spending time with friends in a tavern, enjoying a “female singer on the table.” This type of man is portrayed in the National Theatre’s 3D comedy, written and directed by Miroljub Nedović. Why 3D? As previously announced, the actors are there to Sing, Dance and Act.

However, in addition to singing, dancing and acting, this cabaret-style production is enhanced by interesting photographs from the internet, focusing specifically on male-female relationships, but from the male perspective.

Women in Machoism are somewhat complicated and demanding, but nevertheless an unavoidable topic in every male conversation. They give men headaches and cause problems, forbid them so many things, yet “macho men” would never give them up at any price. The “macho man,” as a particular type of man, possesses certain characteristics specific to the stronger sex in this part of the world.

Originally conceived as a response to the production Euphemism, this comedy nevertheless went a step further. It not only explores male-female relationships from the male perspective, but also takes a critical look at these macho men. The witty remarks of the characters, although mostly familiar to the audience, provoke laughter and enthusiastic applause. Short dialogues, presented as confessions by the main characters about their experiences with women and interwoven with song and dance, may have been told many times before, but they deliver the kind of humor that audiences respond to.
