In a country where history is often reinterpreted and rewritten, it is difficult to distinguish historical fact from myth, legend, propaganda, and silenced truths.
Based on the novel “Long Nights and Black Flags” by Dejan Stojiljković, the production explores our relationship with the past, intertwining history and fantasy to create a new theatrical vision. Well-known historical events acquire a mythical dimension, while the theatre goes a step further, raising questions about fate, choices, and the legacy that shapes the present.
The story is set in the period immediately preceding the Battle of Kosovo—an event that, even after centuries, continues to live on in our collective memory. On stage, people, beliefs, ideas, demons, and nightmares from two worlds collide, while the audience witnesses a story whose outcome is known, but whose causes and meanings continue to invite new interpretations.
Long Nights and Black Flags is a theatrical fairy tale about us—about a past that never ceases to shape us and about myths that continue to live on in every new age.
